How to calculate block and curbstone quantities for your project
A quick estimate that saves you from running short mid-job or leaving surplus on site.
Block: start from the face, not the thickness
The factory’s standard block face is 40×20 cm, so each block covers 0.08 m². That means about 12.5 blocks per square meter of wall, before allowing for joints and wastage.
Thickness — 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 cm — doesn’t change the number of blocks per square meter; it changes the weight, the price and the wall’s role: load-bearing, partition or insulated exterior.
Add a wastage allowance
Add 3% to 5% for breakage and cutting around openings and corners. On projects with many openings, raise it slightly.
Curbstones: by the linear meter
Curbstones come in 15×30×50 cm or 10×30×50 cm, and every two linear meters take four pieces — that is, two per linear meter. Each piece weighs 44 kg in the 15 cm size and 31 kg in the 10 cm size.
Check the load before ordering
Multiply the number of pieces by the unit weight to get the total load, then check it against the slab capacity if storing on upper floors, and against truck capacity to estimate the number of trips.
Minimum delivery
Delivery starts at 500 pieces for block and 80 meters for curbstones. Lifting up to the fourth floor is available on request.
